The majestic sahuaro is the largest cactus in the United States, achieving heights of up to 50 feet and weights of
6 to 8 tons. Native only to the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, California and
Mexico, they are prolific and incredibly beautiful. The sahuaro is not only a cactus but is also considered a tree.
The spelling of Sahuaro with an "h" is actually an old outdated version of
Indian origin and appears as such on
the 1940's vintage post card, it's image multiplied to make it modern.
